Ingredients:
- Barley broken 100 gms
- Water as required
- Water as required
- Milk 1 liter
- Dates 10 or as required
- Cardamom powder ½ tsp
- Pistachio sliced 2 tbs
- Almonds sliced 2 tbs
Directions:
1.Add broken barley to a bowl and fill with water.
2.Add water, soak for 3 to 4 hours, or overnight, and then drain. 3.In a pot, combine the milk with the boiling milk. Add the barley that has been soaked, stir well, and cook on low for 8 to 10 minutes. 4.Cut and deseed the dates. 5.Add the dates, well combine, partially cover, and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes on low heat. 6.Add the cardamom powder and stir well. After cooking for 8 to 10 minutes, partially cover the pan. 7.Incorporate almonds and pistachios. 8.Glaze & serve!
3.Healthy Talbina Recipe
Ingredients:
- Barley 1/2 cup
- Milk 6 cups (1.5 liters)
- Dates 6-8 (for paste)
- Milk 4 tbsp (for paste)
- Honey 2 tbsp or to taste
- Pistachios as required
- Almonds as required
- Raisins as required
- Coconut as required
- Honey 2 tbsp or to taste Pistachios as required
1. Put the barley in a bowl, wash it, and soak it for at least three to four hours, if not overnight.
2. Deseed them by taking dates. They can be combined with milk in a grinder to create a thick paste.
3. After that, add milk to a pan and bring it to a boil. Add the soaked barley and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the barley is completely cooked.
4. Next, combine the ingredients to give it a smoother texture.
5. Stir in the honey and date paste to the milk and heat through until thickened.
6. Finally, stir in the coconut, raisins, almonds, and pistachios. Talbina is all set. Before serving, allow the food to cool.
7. Add more dry fruits as a garnish before serving.
